This will be two co-events.   One will be a fundraising inaugural WSCF Alumni Tournament and the other will be a WSCF scholastic tournament.

Inaugural WSCF Alumni Tournament

This tournament is for anyone who has played in WSCF tournaments since 2004 and for those who wish to support WSCF’s mission of providing chess experiences to children across Wisconsin. The chess tournament will be a 5 round Swiss, G30 or G25, d5. Round 1 will start at 9:00 am and will have prepaid registration with pairings posted on the WSCF website. There will be one trophy for this event. This event will be a traveling trophy that is to be brought back each successive year. Onsite registration will end at 8:45 and new registrants will be paired manually. The entry fee for this fundraising tournament is $50 in advance and $60 for onsite registration.

WSCF Scholastic Tournament

This tournament will be a 5 round Swiss, g30 or g25, d5 with divisions K5u800 and Open/K12 (updated May 8, 2023).

Register in advance on our website at www.wisconsinscholasticchess.org.   Registration closes at 11:00 pm on Thursday, May 18th.   Please check in between 8:00 and 8:45.   Those checking in after 8:45 can play in round 2.   Onsite registration closes at 8:30.  Onsite registration fee is $20.   Those pre-registering online will pay $15 at time of check-in. Round 1 will begin between 9:15 and 9:30.

Parking: There is street parking in the neighborhood around the school. The school lot is just down the block with an entrance on National.

Check-in: Check-in will take place from 8:00-8:45 a.m. Any player checking in after 8:45 a.m. will start in Round 2. Pre-registered player fee is $15 (cash or check, exact change appreciated.)

Onsite registration: Onsite registration for Round 1 will end at 8:30 a.m. Onsite registration for Round 2 will end at 10:00 a.m. The onsite registration fee is $20 (check or cash, exact change preferred).

Awards

Five individual and two team trophies per division and medals to all.

Lunch: Concessions available on site.

Supervision: At least one designated adult supervisor must be present always during the tournament to oversee your school’s team, or individual participants who are in K through 8th grade.
